With how hectic our workday is, it can be tough to eat right while on the job. You’re likely away from home, too busy in the morning to pack yourself a healthy lunch, and you just go to the nearest fast-food or fast-casual restaurant near your office to grab something quick and easy to fill your belly. But all of that unhealthy eating can add up to weight gain. What are some better ways to be eating healthy throughout the day? Bring some healthy snacks!
Favorite Snacks to Eat Healthy at Work
A lot of the unhealthiness during the workday is because you just don’t have time, and you want something convenient. And since you’ve been without food since you left the house in the morning, you’re hungry and probably overeat. One way to avoid this is to pack some snacks that you can eat at your desk and keep yourself full. Mind you, I mean healthy snacks, not just any kind of snacks.
So what kind of things do we recommend? Obviously, stay away from that bag of potato chips and candy bars from the vending machine. I’m sure I don’t have to explain to you that they’re not the best option, despite how tasty they are. Here are some of the favorites that we enjoy munching on throughout the workday.

Fruits
We have another page here that has a great list of fruits to snack on. They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, and they ain’t lying about that! Apples are extremely nutritious for you, and beyond that, they are quite starchy and will make you feel more full. Another option that is great for snacking is berries. Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, whatever you like! They have great antioxidant properties and come in perfect snack size. Put them in the office fridge in the morning and go grab them whenever you feel that hunger pang.
Nuts
The ultimate snack! We love nuts of all kinds, but particularly peanuts and pistachios. Not only are they the perfect snacking size, they also are a great source of protein. Proteins make you feel full, as opposed to other empty calories in junk food, and give your body the sustenance you need to get you through the day (or at least tie you over until lunchtime or time to go home).
Protein Bars
Containing tons of vitamins and minerals, as well as (obviously) a good dose of protein, these are a solid choice. One bar can fit easily into your purse, briefcase, laptop bag and be there whenever you feel a little bit of hunger. You may have to experiment around a little while to find one that has a preferred taste (we’re fans of the chocolate kind) as not all are created equal. There are definitely good tasting ones out there, despite the stigma. If you’re not a fan of protein bars, we provide some alternatives here: https://www.dietpillreviews.com/protein-bar-alternatives/
Yogurt
So easy to grab one out of the fridge on your way out the door and put it in the office fridge for when you need it! Yogurts are probiotics that contain great bacteria for your gut, along with many other health benefits. To add even more flavor, and incorporate more of the healthy snacks we mention above, add some berries or nuts to your favorite yogurt!
