If I can talk frankly here, it is annoying as heck to have man boobs. I can attest to it, as I used to have a quite bosomy chest before I began my weight loss journey. It just screams unhealthiness and is an eyesore to look at in the mirror, and it certainly doesn’t have any sex appeal on a man.
No man wants to have man boobs, but it’s something that comes with the territory when you reach a certain point of being overweight. Luckily, I have a few tips to help you get rid of these bothersome bags of fat on your chest.
Tips to Eliminate Your Man Boobs
As I’ve written about in many other pages on this site, there is no such thing as “spot reducing” fat. You can’t just get rid of one particular place by eating certain foods or doing certain exercises. I explained this on another page about how to reduce belly fat. To lose the fatty masses on your chest, you need to burn fat in general to reduce your body fat percentage as a whole. Here are some tips to do just that.
Follow a Diet
You are what you eat, as they say, so this is the first place to look when you want to lose weight (and fat, in particular). It’s time to put away the junk food and replace it with healthier snack options. Make sure you are getting your recommended daily allowance of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbs, and ensure that these calories are all coming from healthy food sources.
You might want to follow one of the meal plans we recommend on this page. They are all unique, but all geared towards fat loss and weight loss, so certainly there is one in there that will fit your tastes and lifestyle.

Weight Training
Besides a high fat percentage, the way you are training your chest in the weight room may be an underlying cause of your man boobs. Muscle helps to burn fat, so if you are neglecting chest exercises in the gym, the fat on your chest may persist. Also, it’s possible that you are not attacking your pectoral muscles from all angles. This can cause them to be lopsided or misshapen and lead to the appearance of man boobs.
Be sure to include chest exercises in your workouts, and attack them from different angles. Do a regular bench press to work all of your pectorals, incline bench press to target the upper chest area, and decline bench press to work the lower area. You can also add butterflies either with dumbbells or cables to work the inner chest area.
While it is not possible to just get rid of your man boobs, if you follow a proper diet and complete exercise routine, there’s no reason why you can’t shed the fat in that area and build a well-constructed pectoral area. Stay with the program in the kitchen and the gym and you’ll soon have a sexy chest!
