How to Recognize Low Testosterone

April 5, 2019 by Shaun Hudson

You might think that losing your testosterone is something that happens for much older men, but if you are a male in your 30’s, I hate to break it to you but your levels have already started their decline. In fact, it can begin as early as your 20’s.

However, just because your body is producing less of this hormone naturally, that doesn’t mean that you can’t get your levels back up through food consumption and supplementation. If you think you might need to add a testosterone boosting supplement to your diet, I provide many recommendations here (if you want to cut out the middleman, my top choice is TestoGen).

With that said, now that you know your t-levels are already dropping at a certain age, what kind of signs should you look out for to indicate that a t-boosting supplement may be needed?

Signs of Low Testosterone

If you begin to feel some changes in yourself — you just don’t feel like yourself anymore — here are some indicators that low testosterone levels may be to blame.

Fatigue

If you are finding it tougher to get through a workout or having a hard time just getting through your workday, it might not just be a lack of sleep, and testosterone could be the culprit. This is one of the trademark symptoms of lower testosterone levels, as this hormone is a big source of energy. When t-levels drop, so do our energy levels.

Beyond just physical fatigue, it can also manifest itself in mental fatigue as well. A lack of focus, concentration, and mental clarity are all signs of low testosterone levels.

Loss of Muscle Mass

This hormone is also responsible for building and maintaining muscle mass. If you find you are losing some of your musculature, despite not making any changes to your diet or physical activity, low t-levels could be the root cause. This also piggybacks on the above point about fatigue.

If you are feeling too tired to go to the gym, you might skip workouts and lose muscle mass that way as well. For an effective muscle building program, I highly recommend Shortcut to Size.

Sexual Dysfunction

It’s not the most fun subject to talk about, but it afflicts every man at a certain age. The testosterone hormone has a great influence on the libido (sexual appetite) as well as sexual (erectile) function. If you are not performing as well in the bedroom, or not having the desire for bedroom activities, you may need a testosterone booster.

More Body Fat

As muscle boosts your metabolism and helps to burn fat, having less muscle mass due to low testosterone levels can also lead to gaining some fat all over your body. Furthermore, if you have an imbalance of the testosterone and estrogen hormones, it can even lead to the development of male breasts due to fat build-up in the chest area.

Unstable Mood

Lastly, just as testosterone plays a part in our physical and mental health, it can also play a role in our emotional health. If you find yourself down in the dumps or have bouts of irritability, it may not be stress and other outside factors. Low testosterone can lead to depression, mood swings, and a lack of confidence.

What To Do Next

If you find that any or all of the indicators are descriptive of your life, it’s time to get some more testosterone into your system. Check out TestoGen, which I linked to above at the beginning of this post, or for another recommendation, I would give my review of Prime Male here a read as well. All great choices to get your t-levels back to where they need to be!
