Is Peanut Butter Good For You?

Who doesn’t love peanut butter? Yes, I’m sure there’s a minority out there that don’t like it, as well as those who have allergies to peanuts, but by and large, this is a popular treat. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, peanut butter cups, and all the other kinds of tasty snacks you can make out of it. I love it all!

However, seeing as that it is commonly a part of candies and snack foods, it has a reputation as being unhealthy for you. Is that the truth? I’ll do my best to answer that below.

Peanut Butter: Good or Bad For You?

If you ask me, it’s absolutely good for you. When I say that, I mean peanut butter itself. When you’re eating it as part of a candy, cookie, or other snacks, that’s when it becomes an unhealthy treat. But on its own, it is great to put in your body. Here’s why:

It is Very Nutritious

In even just a small serving of a couple tablespoons, you’re getting a huge dose of Vitamin E, an incredible antioxidant that helps with repairing your skin and other important body processes. Clinical studies have even hypothesized that it can also ward off afflictions like Alzheimer’s or heart disease.

On top of Vitamin E, you’re getting a healthy dose of magnesium. I talk about this a lot in my reviews of the best testosterone supplements as one of my most sought-after ingredients. In addition, you’re also getting potassium and other vitamins that are crucial to a healthy body.

is peanut butter a healthy snack?

It Can Help With Weight Loss

One of our favorite weight loss tips! While peanut butter has the stigma of being fattening, and it is true that it is rather high in calories per serving, it can actually aid in your weight loss goals. The reason is that it is very rich in fiber and protein, with around 2 grams and 8 grams per serving, respectively.

Fiber plays a huge role in the digestive system, so adding peanut butter to your meals is a great way to help you reach your daily needs of fiber. Protein builds muscle, and body with lean muscle mass burns fat faster than the alternative.

It Helps to Gain Weight

This is contradictory to the point above but stay with me here. Yes, it has properties that can help with weight loss. On the other hand, as mentioned above, it is a great source of protein. If you’re looking to build muscle, peanut butter (and nuts in general) are a great way to make sure you are getting the recommended number of grams of protein every day.

Full of Healthy Fats

Since we write about it more here (https://www.dietpillreviews.com/list-of-the-best-healthy-fats), I’ll go into less detail on this page. The point is, PB is rich in the fats that are good for your body. Fats are absolutely crucial to a healthy body, despite the stigma of the word “fat”. This snack is chock full of them, in a good way!

The Verdict

Full of vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and other nutrients – don’t be shy to add some peanut butter to your diet!
